From being a hands-on producer all my professional life, now I’m doing consultant work.
I show up, set up the client’s rig, suggest a workflow, and leave them alone. Then, some other day, I frame their mix (always on their rig, using AI as help for navigating their DAW).
I leave them with a working mix that can be tweaked, and I touch no files.
The role of Ardour? To make my own music and have a sandbox for techniques that my clients can apply. I bring no gear to the sessions, except maybe my headphones.
I never post anything, but I thought that the topic is interesting enough.
EDIT: I’m semi-retired, I don’t have much of this work, but it’s fun when it happens.
