Ardour ARM 8.12 and 9.0(nightly) don't send MIDI clock

Hi,

It seems the Mac version of Ardour 8.12 ARM doesn’t send MIDI clock. When I open the MIDI tracer and chose MIDI Clock Out, MMC Out or MTC Out while playing, it doesn’t show anything. My external sequencer doesn’t receive anything. When I do that same thing on Ardour 8.12 Intel on my old Macbook, it shows CLOCK messages in the MIDI Tracer and my external sequencer responds by syncing the tempo.

Should I open a ticket on Mantis?

It works in the MIDI Tracer window in Ardour here … file a report anyway …

Was that on an ARM (Silicon) Mac?

I also have an older plugin (Musical Entropy Spaceship Delay) which always defaults to 0.0 bpm when set to Host Tempo. I can then delete it, put it back on the track, and when I choose Host Tempo it gives the correct bpm, until I reload the session. Then it’s back to 0.0… Not sure but I think it’s related.

Okay, I figured it out.
Apparently there are options you need to set in order to send out clock messages. They were hidden in Edit>Preferences>Transport>Generate.
It all works now, but I only found out when I was cross checking ALL my settings from my old macbook with those on my new macbook.
I’ll remove the bug tracker entry.
