Ardour 9.4 downloaded and installed but now

Hi everyone. Two days ago, I downloaded Ardour 9.4 from the website, but now I see it’s no longer on the server because it went back to version 9.2. I noticed two beautiful new themes in version 9.4—really splendid—but I don’t understand why the previous version is back now. And of course, I didn’t download it from a nightly build…
I’m on Kubuntu 26.04 if matter…

until someone with authority may answer:
from what i understand there are some “problems”, like bugs not seen in 9.4, and the main info: it is just a matter of waiting a bit.

(i only do that much with ardour, but nightly might work for you right now, for me it does).

the 9.3 and 9.4 builds were missing a file that defines chords. There were no other issues there.

We will be releasing 9.5, which has the chords file, and some other fixes, ASAP (36-58 hours).

Thank you for your help, I was just curious… The new themes are gorgeous!!! Really good work :+1:t2:
Looking forward for 9.5.

NIIIICE!!! Just checked out the git repo, compiling now… is there a changelog or summary of new features / bug fixes available somewhere? I don’t see one in the repo.

BTW, regarding this subject, aren’t nightlies expected to be released as regular downloads whenever a newer version becomes available?
Thanks!

We don’t publish a changelog in the source tree, but there will be release notes for v9.5 on the website.

In my experience ‘official’ releases are briefly available as nightlies until they are superseded by the next build. *Ardour Lifer Hint: in my experience the Ardour sweet spot is a nightly 5-10 commits after an official release, that usually is where release bugs are fixed before the next new features begin…
