The system is running a 4.10.0-20 low latency kernel.

I will try booting with an older kernel.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem?

cheers

Hi,

There seems to be a problem with the Calf plug-ins and Ardour 5.8 co-existing in Ubuntu Studio 17.04. Ardour crashed for me even in “safe” mode.

I removed the Calf plug-ins completely from Ubuntu Studio 17.04 and Ardour 5.8 fired up fine.

By the way, none of my projects use/d Calf plug-ins. Strange!

Sadly, the same error occurs with the 4.8.0-51 kernel.

Thanks. Unfortunately i do use calf plugins. Not the first time I’ve had issues. I’ll attempt to raise a bug with calf. See what happens…
