Having turned my back on mac, my upcoming album will be completely produced using Linux. This includes recording, mastering and even the artwork (produced in GIMP).
Using Ardour has improved my workflow and it doesn’t crash (like some major DAW’s I’ve used in the past).
The guitar sounds are via effects pedals. I’ve used Ardour 4 and Calf plug-ins.
I’ve also used a guitar tuning at 432 Hz instead of 440. Here’s a preview track, the album will be released shortly. Enjoy.
@bjboydmusic: try double-tracking the guitar. This will give you a good stereo image and make recording more ambient.
