While playing with Ardour6 prereleases I had an alternative way to show tracks (see screenshot). Duly following the advice to remove older settings before using the release version I lost this alternative display… and I cannot recall how I once enabled it.

Thanks for your reply. I couldn’t find what you meant, but in the same dialogue I found “Use name highlight bars” and that is what I was looking for.
