Inspired by one of the best-known vintage FET compressor / limiters, the ACM76SA provides fast attack to tame the most troublesome dynamics, combined with colourful harmonic drive from the transformer coupled JFET VCA emulation, while the classic ‘All Buttons’ or ‘British’ mode offers an additional rich overdrive texture.
- Smooth controls with no ‘zipper noise’ when adjusting the plug-in settings.
- Physically modelled rotary control modes.
- Resizable graphical user interface.
- Fast attack and program dependent release.
- JFET VCA emulation for colourful harmonic drive.
- Transformer-coupled circuit emulation enhances the desirable vintage tone.
- Innovative zero-delay feedback algorithm models analogue behaviour.
- Classic ‘All Buttons’ mode for extra overdrive, colour and texture.
- VST, VST3, CLAP and JACK.
- Windows & Linux compatible.

Me too
I’m a big fan of all of the ACMT plugins and this FET compressor is a superb addition to the range. Highly recommend giving it a try. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I do…!
These types of compressor definitely have their own sound, often with even different examples of similar hardware having their own unique character too - all of which made developing the plug-in quite an interesting journey.

Is it suitable for someone who gets down funky, like a monkey?!?!?!
V3.4.0 Is now available to download. This is a free update for existing users, V3.4.0 provides the following bug fixes and feature improvments:
-
Bug fix. This update addresses an issue when opening the preferences or license entry panel on portrait oriented screens.
-
Bug fix. VST3 Factory preset management modified to prevent issues which could occur when reloading a session in Ardour / Mixbus.
-
Feature update. The ‘OFF’ text below the attack control will now change colour when gain reduction is disabled. Holding [Shift] and double-clicking the attack control enables or disables the gain reduction, allowing the harmonic colouration provided by the transformer and VCA emulation to remain, while inhibiting the compressor action. Gain reduction can also be inhibited by configuring the ratio selection buttons for ‘All Buttons Off’
