Hello.

This is a silly question, but I am stuck in this very basic stuff:

When you cut or delete a section of audio usually the remaining parts stay at their positions. I don’t know which button/preference I moved a while ago and now when I cut or delete all other parts moves to occupy the empty space, changing them all.

Which one is the configuration to restore the previous behavior?

You probably have edit mode set to “Ripple”, as seen in the image in the manual

The default is Slide.
