howdy y’all, long time no see
the plan for memories has changed. i’m going more for a style inspired by jon hopkins’ immunity, with elements of tons of other sounds (virtual riot comes to mind w/ all the bleeps and bloops)
i have a couple demo videos from my youtube channel to share.
the latest one, still pretty WIP
cheers! <3
Thank you for sharing your process!!
They’re both sort of garage but they’re so ambient they’re really pushing the edge of what I think of as dance music. It’s very cool to me that you’re able to get a sound you’re inspired by out of open source tools :). I am looking forward to getting to that point myself.
Did you end up doing the one-note-per-tempo trick? Was it super annoying? Did it get you the sound you wanted??
in the end, it wasn’t actually too cumbersome to fix the notes, it only took about 20 minutes. i still need to go back and finish the ping-pong automation though.
