I love Ardour, but feel like I must be approaching the system in the wrong way. Whenever I sit down to record, I open the app and the audio is never connected correctly; it then takes me a frustrating amount of time to get it hooked up.
I fear I’m starting in the wrong place/looking at the system in the wrong way. Any tips?
It would be more helpful if you described the audio hardware you have, the connections ardour starts with, and what connections you would desire.
The three basic ardour startup configurations are:
*No connections. You connect what you want when you want it.
*Automatic connections. The hardware inputs are connected in order to the tracks.
*Template connections. Using a session template will setup the I/O connections from the saved session settings. Note that can only work if you use the same audio hardware which matches the template, it can’t read your mind if the hardware doesn’t match the saved settings.
