so, this is a bit of a borderline case. I did a 36-channel recording in Ardour on a Mac Mini M1 using a Digiface Dante earlier this year. The resulting Ardour project I then mixed and mastered using Mixbus Pro 10, which opens Ardour projects directly.
The Album “Sudhaus Sessions“ by Mandala Movie. Sessions is quite right, they play free music / 100% improvised / Krautrock, so me as the recording guy would rather not mess this up because they never can repeat anything they play. Ardour did great on recording 4h30m live audio without any hickups.
The backup recording I did with the live console’s internal recorder, an Allen&Heath SQ5, was limited to 32 channels, so I had to sum some of them, which wouldn’t have been ideal lateron.
