OpenSource - PlugIn Base stack

You mean like this?

Of course someone needs to maintain such a list that is not the developers.

Regarding VST PlugIns.
It looks like that VST PlugIns are still the majority of all PlugIns but Steinberg officially dropped the support for VST2 long ago and your can’t even download the official VST2 SDK from Steinberg or the Steinberg Github repo anymore. I found a version of it on archive org (VST SDK 2.6) but downloading
such stuff from questionable places like archive .org is far from ideal.

I also noticed that SFizz doesn’t provide VST2 64-PlugIn x86_64 in it’s Windows Installer anymore, only VST3.To make it work for both (Cubase and Ardour) i had to build SFizz it from source with MSVC to get a working VST2 PlugIn out if it so i can use it un both DAW’s.

Are there any plan’s to support VST3 anytime soon or will there be a VST3 support at all?

Ardour has supported VST3 for a couple of years already.

Ok, this wasn’t completely clear to me, but as you replied i checked it again.

I extracted the SFizz VST3 PlugIn from the exe installer:
innounp -X sfizz-1.2.2-win64.exe {commoncf}\VST3\sfizz.vst3\Contents\x86_64-win\sfizz.vst3

and put it in :

C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\SFiizz_vst3\sfizz.vst3
while the VST2 is still present in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST2\SFizz_VST2\sfizz.dll

To me it looks like the VST3 PlugIn is favored over the VST2 version.
However, looks good to me now, thanks for clarifying.

Preferences > Plugins > VST > Conceal VST2 Plugin if matching VST3 exists
