@jrigg: you’re right about that plugins should not start jack server. I’m also the same opinion because only I know the setup of jackd that I currently need.
chmod -x jackd and use jackdbus works for me with jackd2. But it does make for other problems if someone wants to use more than one jackd server or is using jackd1. But since then I just have jack start at session start and use jack as my sound card for pulse.
@lenovens: I don’t think it’s the best way. It’s more convenient to keep your JACK configuration in a separate application, so you know nothing can mess it up
