How do I record new midi notes to an existing midi part?

Hi, people!
@timetre

if you want to make operations on the notes, these operations cannot be relative to the notes in the other layer, etc …

I’ve found this Ardour’s function is more useful feature than drawback. )) It’s comfortable to see the layers, correct them, quantize them separately & after when all stuff become desired - consolidate! Good approach! :))///
@dspasic Yes, it could be good to have a possibility to record the new notes directly in to an existing midi region (but as an option, because I personally don’t want to lose the “Layering approach”). It’s sometimes difficult to understand what people mean using some words. “Overdubbing” can be done in Ardour (as possibility), but not directly (as approach) )).

Hello, Mr. @timetre!

layers_move
I’ve tested and found the possibility to manipulate layers separately in any direction. Also we can select any desired number of layers (Using Ctrl+LMB) and move them in any direction…
