Generic MIDI `motorised` option

Hi all!
I am trying to use Ardour as an instrument host for synthesizers and virtual instruments. I would like to associate a few features to MIDI CC, but I have an issue: I do not have a knob, since I am doing live coding (I code the music in real time). Thus, my MIDI CC are not continuous: I may output 5 and then 10 without passing through 6, 7, 8, 9 and it is hard to force the intermediate values. Unfortunately, Ardour seems to skip non-continuous values. Is it really so? Is there a way to change this behavior?

I found that by checking the option Motorised it works. What that does? It’s in Edit > Preferences > Control Surfaces > Generic MIDI > Show Protocol Settings > Motorised

motorized: A physical knob’s position is assumed to always match the control value
