Downloading Ardour: Changes & Backstory

Zettberlin,i am using paypal for a year now and i didn’t face any problems with it till now,
I think instead of a credit card a debit card will do:)

I have tried again to subscribe - just for the record, this is what I get fro Paypal:

and I guess, many other users whithout a credit-card get stuck with the very same message. A crude translation:

“You need to add a credit card (to your account I guess) to proceed with the purchase. The vendor accepts immediat payment only.”

So if anybody has any information on that, go on, give us a clue.

Hey Paul,

I get the same error as zettberlin (I’m also from Germany). I’ve linked my bank account to my paypal account and have no problems sending single donations, paypal automatically “pulls” the amount from my bank account.

But when trying to subscribe, I get the same error as shown in the screenshot, no matter how much money I have on my account.

I’m trying to subscribe to ardour, but it won’t let me pay because I didn’t register a credit card…

Can someone help me figure out how I can subscribe with a direct payment service like Google Pay?

PayPal is the only payment service we use. You can read why that is the case here: http://ardour.org/about_subscriptions.

We are a tiny project and do not have the resources to divert into integrating additional payment platforms at this time.

We cannot, unfortunately, control PayPal’s operations in different jurisdictions. The credit card requirement is not universal.
