Thanks Seablade. I guess what I’m asking is: Is Scarlett 18i20 worth keeping or should I wait for Saffire PRO?
Saffire pro has been ported to Linux with most routing functionality and has more mature support. But since Scarlett is a new range, is it going to be developed to the same extend? Some mixing is apparently available but what about routing the inputs and outputs?
It’s interesting that Audacity can see Scarlett 18i20 but jack or ALSA can’t (yet).

@gosvald: Audacity can see nothing on a Linux system unless ALSA can see it. And if ALSA can see it, so can JACK. Whether or not you can find the right parameters for JACK and the card is something else.
