Ardour 9.1 released

We are pleased to announce the release of Ardour 9.1. This is primarily a hotfix release intended to correct a number of bugs in the 9.0 release. Most significantly, we have corrected the behavior of the new bottom pane in the Editor which was notably broken by some last minutes changes before 9.0 was released. 9.1 also contain a couple of notable new features (MIDI note chasing and duplication) and several improvements too.

Show pitchbend as a value in the range -8192…8191 rather than 0…16384

A small question:

MIDI Note Duplication

Select some MIDI notes, press Ctrl/Cmd-d to duplicate them right after the end of the last note, or, if Snap is on, snapped to the next snap point after the last note.

Not sure how is this supposed to work: both in edit and draw mode it duplicates the entire region.

if in grab mode - and you select region, it duplicates region
if you are in edit mode and select notes, it duplicate notes
if you are in range mode → it duplicates range
my experience (few minutes ago)

I tried now. It duplicates the region. Also, when I select a note, the region gets selected.

It is something in the settings: if I move away my .config/ardour9 directory, and start anew, it works indeed.

I will have to redo my customisations.

Is this a problem on my system, or does showing/hiding the rulers not work at all in 9.1? Can anyone reproduce this?

Have you tried with a fresh config? Perhaps back up your existing one and try it? Wild guess here, I haven’t had time to DL 9.1 yet…

I know I’m a bit late for the party, been quite preoccupied with recording and mixing lately, but I’d like to say congratulations for the huge achievement and many, many thanks for all the work the team has done so far and the support you give. Ardour really is the force!

For the time being, I’ll stick with my trusted 8.12 as long as it works. Which it does very well!

If I hadn’t read this post I wouldn’t have known that 9.2 was released! @paul Can we get the 9.2 release announcement in the big lights?
