Another issue with real-time scheduling :-(

If I understand correctly, it is a sort of marketing problem, where some applications display misleading information regarding processing time headroom, which made it appear as if Mixbus and Ardour are less efficient than those other applications. At some point someone decided that rather than educate the users on what is really happening, it was easier to just go along and display misleading information as well.

oh! well, as someone who works in sales myself, I very much understand that people love to be lied to.

Maybe MB can set the default UI preferences for Windows to not display the DSP. Just a big smiley face in the top right :slight_smile:

As long as you do not use JACK, Ardour and Mixbus show the worst-case value on all platforms (no lies, no averaging, no heuristics).
